New General Manager for SOL Breakbulk

Stefan Pettersson

We are glad to announce that Stefan Pettersson has been appointed as the new General Manager for SOL Breakbulk.

For many of our breakbulk customers and partners, Stefan Pettersson is already a well-known and trusted figure. With several years of hands-on experience in our Breakbulk operations, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role. As Kent Tullock steps into a well-earned retirement, Stefan will now take over the reins and continue to build on the strong foundation.

Stefan began his career at sea and has spent over two decades gaining hands-on experience in breakbulk operations and developing a keen understanding of the market. This unique blend of practical and strategic insight makes him exceptionally well-suited for his new position.

“I’m very excited to take on this role. Having held a similar position before, the role itself isn’t new to me, however the opportunity to return to a more strategic capacity after several fulfilling years in operations was one I couldn´t pass up,” he says.

“Starting my career as a Chief Mate gave me invaluable experience at sea, where I learned to anticipate challenges and communicate effectively with onboard personnel and supercargo. In my most recent role as Marine Operations Coordinator within SOL Breakbulk, I served as the key point of contact for breakbulk cargo handling—ensuring that everything was secured to the satisfaction of both the captain and supercargo.”

“Success in this field demands proactivity, strong coordination skills, and the ability to adapt. Every cargo is unique, and unexpected situations are part of the job. But with thorough preparation, active engagement, and solid problem-solving skills—along with always having a Plan B—everything can be managed and secured effectively. My combined experience at sea and in operations has given me a broad understanding of both the practical and logistical sides of the business.”

Looking ahead, Stefan will lead with a strong strategic focus on market development and business growth. A key priority will be expanding our northbound cargo flows.

“While sawn timber exports to Alexandria remain a core part of our business, there is significant potential to secure year-round breakbulk services.” says Stefan Pettersson

“We’re ready to adapt and grow—through new partnerships, expanded port coverage, and a newbuilding program designed to meet our customers’ evolving needs. I look forward to continuing to strengthen existing relationships and building new ones along the way.”
