In August, SOL moved to new premises – less than 50 meters from their previous ones. Michael Kjellberg, Chairman of SOL opened the housewarming festivities and broke a bottle of champagne against the brick wall. Tommy Kalin, CEO at SOL, talks more about the thoughts behind the short move and why it was important.
“When we heard that the venue was going to be available, we did not hesitate! Also, the fact that it was a very short distance away made the move even more practical. The new premises – called ‘Skeppet’ (The Ship) – combine tradition and renewal. The building is historic, but the furnishings and the digital support are modern and functional. This aligns well with our DNA at SOL.
“We have also been able to create a small gym for our employees, just like on our ships at sea. This gives good opportunities for our employees to take care of their health. The design of the premises – a combination of open spaces, conversation rooms, and conference possibilities – promotes internal cooperation and improves meeting capabilities with our external partners.
“In addition, we can continue to be located together with our partner Gothenburg Chartering and our joint venture company WALLENIUS SOL in a very smart way. This strengthens our various collaborations and projects, and supports employee development and creativity.”
